Watchdog wants Google to lift all limits from Crimea documentary
MOSCOW, Mar 15 (PRIME) -- The Russian communications service has demanded Google lift all restrictions imposed on Crimea. The Way Home, a documentary by Andrei Kondrashov and inform the authority on the reason of their imposition, a watchdog spokesperson told PRIME late on March 12.
“In a letter sent to Google, the communications service states that Andrei Kondrashov’s film Crimea. The Way Home was broadcast on TV channels Rossiya 1 and Rossiya 24 and does not contain any forbidden information,” the spokesperson said.
The documentary was released on Rossiya 24’s official YouTube channels, but Google’s video hosting marked the film as unacceptable because of shocking content.
The communications service said YouTube violates the idea of free distribution of information.
